Saturday 2nd March, 7:30pm. Live and Local show- An Evening with Kelly’s Heroes. This is an exciting chance to see a very successful four member Irish folk band with instrumentation which includes vocals, guitar, accordion, melodeon, bodhran, fiddle, flute and whistles. This is definitely a band which creates a fantastic atmosphere for an audience of all ages. NOT to be missed. Saturday 13th April, Snail Racing Night Fund Raising Event. Doors Open at 6.30pm. First race at 7.00pm. Tickets £5, include interval refreshments. A Snail Race Night is a group participation game using  pre-recorded cartoon videos of Snail Races, each with 8 runners, which are displayed to an audience. You can become a snail owner by sponsoring a snail prior to the event. Winning snail owners win prizes. NO LIVE SNAILS ARE INVOLVED!! Saturday 11 May, 7:30pm. Live and local Show. The much travelled and hugely experienced Townsend Theatre Productions bring a new play to Heightington called “Behold Ye Ramblers”. This is an entertaining celebration through word and songs of the history of rambling and the Right to Roam Campaign. We follow Walking-Class-Hero George H B Ward and his fellow activists from the Clarion Ramblers campaigning for public access across Derbyshire’s moorlands. The play explores open spaces and tells the story of how just 8% of the UK’s landscape is allowed to be rambled on today.
